Audio commercial production, possible reasons for dissatisfaction
Audio commercial production, possible reasons for dissatisfaction and
some practical advice in a new series of articles.
What causes conflicts, or problems arising upon receiving a finished
audio commercial from production studio.
There may be several reasons which we are going to discuss to avoid
misunderstanding
1. Vague wording of the task
Our studio can get a filled-in brief but:
a) the customer may do it nominally, without going into detail;
b) the customer may not read carefully the text to be read by a voice-talent. As a result even one mispronounced letter can appear fatal. A
good example is foreign words which are often used in company names.
Thus, not long ago the word “Volkswagen” meaning a German trademark
was pronounced differently in Russian, so the customer should stress
which pronunciation is preferable.
The amount of work necessary to remake the audio commercial is about the
same but can substantially empty the customer’s wallet and spoil his
mood. So be very attentive setting the task.
The grouping of figures in a phone number can also be different: zero
zero or double zero? five hundred fifty five or three fives? It is not
just humdrum, these are trifles which can cause troubles requiring
rework.
